Was it a Fish Tale Day?

During the month of June, one of the card making sites (Addicted to Card Making) used National Catfish Day as the monthly challenge ~ make a card with a FISH on it.  What perfect timing since June was also my neighbor's birthday month and a fish card would be great for him also.  So here is what I came up with ~ quick, easy and very masculine.

I had actually cut out this die from a friend's so that I could order it, but for your reference is it an Amy Design Die, It's a Man's World Series, Fishing Float and is available online at several locations.  Personally I would check Bargain Outlet on Facebook as Michelle runs Amy Designs items every couple of weeks.

The oval tag that the fish is mounted on is an older Creative Memories sticker  from one of the designer page packages (Escapes, maybe?) and I used aqua washi tape to 'tie' the already adhered tag and fish shapes.  The sentiment is one that I use a lot simply because it is generic enough for just about any occasion.  After stamping I easily was able to select a copic the same shade as the red background to color in the word CELEBRATE.
The finished piece is mounted on a standard white card base and tied with white twine.

Thanks for stopping by this morning - I hope you enjoyed my card.

Beachy Digital Papers ~ Freebies

A little different blog posting today as I'm bringing to a close a wonderfully quiet week's vacation at the beach and wanted to share a few free digital background papers for your files.
Not everyone uses these, but for those that do, I hope you will enjoy the textures of the South Carolina wind blown sand, foamy waves and a few other mysterious shots.
Each are saved as 5 x 7 size for card making, so be sure to adjust
if you plan to use for scrapbooking or other projects.

I'd love to see how you use these.  We are all so blessed with so much God given talent. To Him be the glory in all that we do.

Everlasting Love ~ WAW #288-289

It's time for my second posting as Guest Designer for Karen at Word Art Wednesday.  I am so excited to share the beautiful scripture from Jeremiah in challenge #288-289 and the card I designed using this selected scripture.

My image is an Elisabeth Bell design Whimsy Stamp, Sunset Rose, which is printed on Bright White Neenah paper, and Copic colored.  The white matting on both pieces was done using the Gina Marie Pleated Lace die set.

Word Art Wednesday is a great Christian based site and Karen provides a free digital scripture every other week.  The new one today is from Jeremiah 31:3.    This scripture spoke to me of the Lord's everlasting love as depicted in the card's image.  Whether the sun is rising or setting, God's love is there for us. He always loves us more than we deserve.  I encourage you today to stop and watch the sun set and be simply amazed by all of God's continued miracles in your life.

Here is today's free digital from Karen, but be sure to pop over to Word Art Wednesday to read Karen's devotional, see the other entries and then create your own card for entry.

Thank you for stopping by today to read and to follow my blog.  And thank you Karen, for allowing me the honor and opportunity to join your team for the month of June.

You Take the Cake!

Today's card was recently sent to one of the members of Christian Card Makers in celebration of her special day.

This image is a Paper Pretties stamp that I Copic colored and then  carefully trimmed around her hair and the back of her dress to allow a spellbinder die to nest closely and make a Tulle shaker card.

The Micro heart confetti is sandwiched between two layers of tulle which is attached to the card base and the top layer with double sided tape (not foam tape) as illustrated by one of Jennifer McQuire's youtube videos.

This technique also allows you to stamp your sentiment inside {Happy Birthday} so that it will be seen through the shaker paper of the window.  Bright orange enamel dots were added at the bottom for the finishing touch after adding the stripped mat and attaching to the orange coordinating card base.

I hope this cheerful card made her day even more special!  Thank you for stopping by today and for following my blog postings. Contact me time to order custom made cards.

Happy Father's Day Tool You!

Nothing makes a my Dad happier than new Tools!

So for Father's Day of course his card had to be a Tool Card ~

The card base is black, the next layer is the silver metallic tool box designed embossing folder, which made it very difficult to photograph.  For the top layer I used the dotted Swiss embossing folder  to give the effect of his peg board.  The tool are from a set by Ellentia Cutting Dies ( DCT001-005) and are attached with silver mini brads.

Thanks for stopping by to enjoy my Dad's card today -

A Life Without Dreams

Would be Just a Life....

Paired up with the Whimsy Stamp 'Elania', designed by Sylvia Zet is today's featured card and was used for the June Girlfriend Swap card on Addicted to Card Making.

The image is Copic colored and die cut using the Gina Marie Pleated Lace Rectangle Die set.  To get the bright orange/red shading for her hair, I used copics YR18, YR21 and Y18 on this card.  I also added Nuvo Bubblegum Blush Crystal Drops for the finishing touch.

Get Well Souper Soon

Today's cards are part of a project we are doing on the
Christian Card Maker site to support a member's church's
ministry to those who are sick and in need of encouragement.

For the Get Well cards, I selected the Taylored Expressions Souper Soon stamp and Die Combo that I purchased from Bargain Outlet.  So many ways to use these cuties!  Here's just a few....

and this is the die set I used ~

I'm thrilled that our card group is sending cards to this community this month.  I encourage you to always look for places that need your extra cards - they can really make someone's day!

Dream Bold Dreams

Today's card was made for a card swap on
Addicted to Card Making that had to have a tag on it.
For mine, I selected the Unity stamp set,  Give Love ~ Laugh Lots

I love the Angie Girl's flowing hair and big hat in this image. Her posture reminds me of many friends that are soft spoken and yet as carefree as the butterfly on her wide hat.

But the true feelings I had for this card are in the required element - The Tag -
DREAM   BOLD   DREAMS.
Whether we are faced with circumstances in our lives that were inflicted by others, whether we are in constant pain,  maybe changing jobs, or making a life changing move...
It is so important to be inspired and each day to
DREAM BOLD DREAMS.
Many are just one step away.

ATCM What's in the Envelope This Month

The June hostess, Cindy, gave 15 of the Addicted to Card Making ladies a great challenge this month with a few unique supplies and our normal list of instructions.
We must use part of each piece and can add up to two additional items.  This is the card I designed from the supplies given.

And this is what were were given to work with ~

I found myself pouring over the page from the novel searching for words to use on the card rather than use it as a mat or embellishment.  I used a rectangle stitched die and cut two pieces from the photo and then I used  the Craft Essentials Pointed Ovals die to cut the shaped mat under the words.  For my two additional parts, I added the button and the threaded ribbon.
Thanks Cindy for a great challenge this month!

And thank you for stopping by my blog and following my postings.  Serving a Risen Savior, Pam

Wee Suzi Sending Birthday Greetings

Tonight's card features another one of my favorite Sylvia Zet designed Whimsy stamps, Wee Suzi.  What a cute little girl and a great stamp especially for birthday with her arms full of presents and flowers!

This was my first attempt at shading the waves of a solid dress with my Copic markers.  I also used Gina Marie Designs's new Stitched Tag nesting dies on my card and a Hampton Art Birthday stamp and fishtail die design for the tag.

18 Wheels of CHEER!

Although masculine cards tend to be our hardest to make
this great 18 wheeler truck die from
Amy Design Vintage Vehicles was perfect for a
Land Transportation card swap on Addicted to Card Making.

I picked this one up from Bargain Outlet, be sure to pop over and check out all the goodies Michelle has to offer each week.

The metallic gold paper gave the bright tool box background and good contrast while the sentiment block could easily be changed by the card receiver to meet another occasion.

Thanks for stopping by today ~ Hope you will enjoy shopping with Michelle on Bargain Outlet.

Here's the Scoop

June 7th ~ Oh Boy!
It's a wonderful National Humorous Holiday today... National Chocolate Ice Cream Day!

This past weekend on Addicted to Card Making, this was one of our weekend challenge theme's.
Here's my entry card.

The triple scooped ice cream and the sentiment are Fiskar stamps that are stamped on Bright White Neenah card stock and Copic colored.  I then used the Gina Marie Fishtail die, ran it through once and then simply laid it on top of the cut piece, being sure the stitched sides were aligned and ran it through just enough to cut the top fishtail ~ making a double fishtail design. After applying to a scrap of Creative Memories multi colored paper and another mat of solid yellow, I then added the cherries using foam dots.  The completed topper was mounted on a solid pink card base.

Thank you for stopping by today - I hope you'll find a special ice cream treat along your day's journey.

A Splashing Happy Birthday Wish For You!

It's summer time for sure here in South Carolina and it's only the first week of June!
For one of my card swap challenges, I used the chubby little cutie for a Child's Birthday Card.

The image is a Paper Pretties design I picked up from one of the facebook selling sites and is Copic colored, then die cut with two stitched oval nesting dies.  The Splash sentiment was also part of the set and I used a spellbinder die for that double tag.  I also positioned the Happy Birthday sentiment so that another tag could be easily applied should the receiver want to use the tag for a different occasion.

Blessed are They Which Do Hunger ~ WAW #286-287

Good morning from Pam's Pearls and thank you Karen for inviting me to be the guest designer for the month of June on Word Art Wednesday.  This is a wonderful blog site that I follow with many of my friends at Christian Card Makers.  It is an honor for me to join your team today and again on June 21st.

For today's card design, I selected Whimsy's Wee Stamp image 'Amy', designed by Sylvia Zet.  I think she has to be my favorite Whimsy designer because the facial expressions of her little girls capture love and caring.

When I read today's scripture from Matthew 5:6, "Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness; for they shall be filled.", I thought of how we are eager to be filled with the knowledge of the scripture so we can be a loving and caring Christian each day.

The key to this knowledge of course is God's word, the Bible, so full of blessings for each of us!  I challenge you (and myself) to find that 15-30 minutes every day to open His Word and to be filled.

Additional supplies used for my card included:
6x6 Kraft card base, Copic markers,  aqua bias lace, Stitched Rectangle Dies, Fancy Tag Dies, Spellbinder Large Labels and Clear beaded flat backs.

You may also visit Word Art Wednesdays blog site to download the scripture reference to make your card and post back on the site.

Thank you for stopping by today ~ May your day be blessed!

Party Pig Birthday Wishes

Today's card features the Crissy Armstrong designed Whimsy Stamp, Party Pig!  Isn't he just the cutest!!!

The image is stamped on bright white Neenah card stock and Copic colored, then die cut with a Stitched Oval die and coordinating lavender mat.  After covering a card base with a fun patterned paper, I tied a soft knotted ribbon, then added the double ovals.  The 'xoxoxo' piece is pop up down the side to give the card it's finishing touch.

In addition to my normal site postings, this card is being entered into the Atlantic Hearts Sketch #215 Challenge.  Be sure to visit their site and join in.

A Simple Angel of Prayer

Today's card is a very simple Angel card full of powerful prayer.

For my little angel I used a 3D bow maker die from Create & Crafts and the Pray die is by Maya Road. I wanted to keep the front of this card as simple, without bows, frills and flowers. This card is about PRAYER.

Have you ever said to someone who is ill or sadden... "I'm praying for you" ?  Do you follow through with that?
When my mother was diagnosed with brain cancer, so many friends would tell me this, as I too have told many.  And while I always said it with meaning, I will be the first to admit it didn't always happen. But my Mom's short 10 month downhill turn from perfectly healthy to at heaven's gate, showed me among other things, how important it is to pray for others and to not forget.  That was 15 years ago - yet sometimes seems like yesterday.
"I'm praying for you" are not words that I say lightly or forget any more.  Our Lord Jesus hears our prayers and wants us to communicate with him.  Who can you pray for today?
