How to Make Your Own Distressing Blocks

Being an avid crafter tends to take you down the trail of not throwing things away.  There is always a re-purpose idea just waiting to be created.  Thus was the case when I decided to make my own Distressing Blocks.

Here's what you'll need to create your set:

Wooden blocks (about 1 1/2" to 2" square)
Double sided foam tape
Velcro (you only use the loop side, other side is not needed)
E6000 glue
White felt

Decide how many stamp pads that you want to have blocks designated for.  I went with the ones I tend to use the most.  That would be the number of wooden blocks you want to start with.  They should be about 1 1/2 to 2" square.

Start by adding the double sided foam tape to each block.  To ensure a good hold, then add E6000 (or other strong glue) to the top of the foam tape and add Velcro on top (loop side up).  Hold each one together to allow the glue to dry before moving to the next one.

Next cut strips of the white felt the same width as the velcro and then to the same length as the wooden blocks.

Using felt instead of the purchased pads is a great tip that I got from Jennifer Evers of Koala T Crafts and Youtube

I've really enjoyed my Re-Purposed blocks and hope you'll make a set to match your favorite inks.

Happy Crafting!
