Unity Fall Color Challenge

For the Unity Fall Color Challenge, I selected the bicycle image from the September 2017 Kit of the Month - So cute with the pumpkins tied on the back!

The image is stamped on Neenah cardstock and Copic colored. The die used for the border is the Gina Marie Wonky Stitches 4 Layers. After coloring the bicycle, I just wasn't sure what to do with the background.

Looking a several that have been done in the past, they all seemed to have been done in water colors which I really didn't have time to go dig out another group of supplies.  So I started pulling Copics, and pulling and pulling.

I'm not an artist but I was well pleased with the shades of purple at the bottom that not only gave the shadows of the bicycle but also gave the look of water or brick or even just the reflection from the setting sun.  So don't ever be afraid to just start adding to your background.  It's no big deal if you mess it up ~ it's ART.  It may not be your current way, but it may be a new door that is being opened for you to go through to something new in your life.

Creeping By to Say Hi!

Today's card is the last of my Halloween card as now I'll move into Fall cards,  with the leaves falling faster than rain her beside the waters of Lake Murray.  This card is for a young man in the Military Academy  ~ I am extremely proud of him and the progress he is making.  I think little notes of encouragement are very important while he is away from his close family and friends.

This one eyed monster is copic colored on Neenah paper and fussy cut, then applied to a regular A2 card base with a stitched mat background.  Black crochet thread was added  and a loopy bow.

and the cute inside

Hopefully that will give him a little chuckle during his strenuous day.

Thank you for stopping by my blog today and for following my work. This card can be duplicated and ordered through my site, Not Just Scraps; and will also be shown of the following sites.

An Alternate to Triple Stamping Technique

One of this months challenges on Addicted to Card Making was the Tech Challenge of Triple Stamping.  This is a fun technique and here is the reference YouTube video for you.
{ }
However, I'd like to share with you an alternate way that my friend Jennie showed me, which achieves the same look and is a lot faster.  It's all a matter of preference, I'm by no means saying one is better than the other.
Here is my card using the alternate way ~ the card I sent to my swap partner in ATCM.  This is also one of my favorite Phyllis Harris designs that I specifically did in fall colors for the Unity current challenge.

Now keep reading if you are interesting in the alternate technique.

The key is you only color one image card or stamp your multiple images on one card.  Next select your THIN die set that has a multiple sizes.  This card used SIX sizes of this set.

Simply pick EVERY OTHER size and line up on your stamped or colored image card and lightly place washi tape to hold in place while you run through your die machine.
For this card, I went back and then used the alternating dies to cut the black matted pieces, however if you want the mats to be thinner, you can simply cut them slightly larger than the die cut images using your personal cutter.
Carefully build from the bottom, securing each layer with glue or tape, then secure to your card base.
And there you have it!
Amazing results ~ I can't wait for you to try it!
